Youth Exchange: “Step into a (dis)ability”

ABOUT THE PROJECT
“Step into a (dis)ability” project is a journey towards finding out how a person with a disability feels and discovering the obstacles and challenges that they face due to inaccessibility. We create a place where young people can break the stereotypes about disability while stepping in each other’s shoes & experiencing the disability.
WORKING METHODS
In “Step into a disability project” participants will get challenged to live every day with a different kind of
disability. During the project, we will have daily activities (eating, reading, sleeping) but also more hardcore ones (puddle sup, hiking) -plus personal development processes. But imagine doing all of that with no ability to see or with the need to move in a wheelchair in inaccessible places? Is the disability the challenge or the accessibility? Boom!
The project will rock. You will make it rock. So, we wait for you all!
Can I join?
ღ Are you coming from Greece, Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Spain?
ღ Are you between 18 to 30 years old or…are you up to be the group leader, with no age limit?
ღ Do you know at least a little English?
ღ Maybe you work in the field of social work, education or whatever society-change kind of work?
ღ Are you into challenging yourself, being responsible and committing to a 7-day stepping into each other’s shoes & experience diverse situations of inaccessibility, discrimination and the real life of a disabled person?
If yes, then please, join us. Read the whole infopack and apply -only if you are sure – because this is not a “normal” Youth Exchange.
COSTS
This project is financed by Erasmus +, so all costs like travel, accommodation, and food during the exchange duration are covered.
Erasmus + program is covering the total costs of accommodation and food (3 meals per day + snacks) during the youth exchange.
There is an annual membership for joining our mobility projects. The price of membership is different for active and passive members, volunteers, or newcomers, so for detailed info click here.
TRAVEL
Participants are buying tickets with the help of organizers and travel costs are going to be reimbursed after the project. The maximum travel reimbursement budget for a participant from Croatia is 225,00 €. Travel details are in the info pack.
