My name is Lovro and I participated in the “Value of YOUth” project held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain from May 3rd to May 10th 2023. The project brought together participants from Croatia, Spain, Romania, and Belgium.
Through non-formal education methods, we delved into various aspects of personal branding, such as crafting effective CVs, mastering job interviews, and even exploring entrepreneurship opportunities. Additionally, we gained valuable insights into unemployment situations and job-finding strategies in different cultures. The project fostered a highly motivated group, and I had the pleasure of meeting remarkable people who were not only enthusiastic but also eager to learn.
The overall experience was amazing, mostly due to its excellent organization and ideal location. The non-formal education approach proved to be highly effective in equipping us with practical skills and knowledge. Exploring the possibility of starting our businesses broadened our horizons and inspired entrepreneurial thinking.
Furthermore, the project provided a platform for intercultural exchange. We had the opportunity to understand the experiences of participants from different countries, gaining insights into their unique unemployment challenges and job search methods. This cultural exchange was eye-opening and contributed to the overall beauty of the project.
One of the highlights of the “Personal Branding Towards Employment” project was the trip to the Maspalomas desert. Exploring the vast and breathtaking landscape was an unforgettable experience. The vast dunes provided a perfect setting for reflection. Another favourite aspect of the project was the session on creating Creative CVs. It was a unique opportunity for each participant to showcase their individuality and talents. The creativity and ingenuity displayed during this activity were incredible. Some participants expressed themselves through songs, dances, presentations, or even games, truly making their CVs stand out from the crowd. It was a delightful and entertaining way to learn how to present ourselves effectively and leave a lasting impression.
In summary, my experience with the project was cathartic. The combination of practical skill-building, intercultural exchange, and an engaging group dynamic made it an unforgettable learning experience. I highly recommend this type of non-formal education to anyone seeking to broaden their horizons.
