Project summary
“Migratory Labyrinth” is a youth-exchange project that will take place from the 12th to the 20th of April
2023 in the city of Alfaro. This project will take participants aged between 18 and 30 years
old from 7 countries: Spain, France, Malta, Romania, Turkey, Italy and Croatia.
In general, the employment situation is considered normal or good in a country where the unemployment rate is below 5%. This rate is well above in many countries of the European Union, around 15%, and the European Commission has been warning about it for years. This situation is even more serious for young emigrants since they have a series of barriers such as a lack of knowledge of culture and language, lack of understanding of essential services and their access, lack of knowledge of employability services, etc. In addition, we must add concepts such as xenophobia between countries, which in many cases makes the situation of these young people even more difficult when it comes to integrating.
That is why we consider it very important and useful that we work on this problem through a youth exchange to generate awareness among young people regarding the difficulties involved in being a young emigrant in another country in the world. The main objective of this project is to define the integration of young emigrants into society.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- To achieve a correct integration of young emigrants, thus allowing their integration into society and developing skills such as European citizenship.
- To raise awareness about the situation of immigrants and avoid xenophobic behaviour. Thus, we seek to meet the need to eliminate extreme positions that arise, many times, from ignorance.
- To know the barriers and stereotypes that revolve around immigration.
- To develop and implement each of the aforementioned phases so that the participants get to know it first-hand.
- To able to function in any country in the world thanks to the development of your personal, professional and social skills.
