Big dreams do come true. Visiting Spain during August, meeting over 50 people from across Europe and having an awesome time at the pool, all at the same time, was definitely one of them. We are a truly lucky group of people and in the rest of the article, you will get to meet us, get to know what we have been doing and just a bit of our bunch of stories and experiences.

So, we are the Croatian team: Tena, Boris, Karlo, Leon and Kristijan. We did not know each other before, but we had a great time together. Everything is easier in the team, so the preparation for energizers and Croatian cultural night was not a big deal for us. In the morning we played “Day – Night” and did some meeting games. In the evening we prepared Kaahoot quiz, a video and a presentation about Croatia and we talked with other participants about some interesting facts about Croatia. In the end, we presented some characteristic food and drinks: Domaćica, Napolitanke, Pelinkovac and Borovnička.

The theme of the project was sports in the digital age. Some of the main topics were digital sports, dance, nutrition, multimedia, and the therapy of the movement. Basically, we covered the main points and definitions. We have made clear differences between activity, exercise, and sport. We talked about the importance of a healthy diet and calorie counting. Furthermore, we discovered that there are many utilities used while doing sport, like apps, smart watches, smart bands and rings, all kinds of professional equipment, etc. Our main task was to make a guidebook about all the topics we covered. Moreover, we made ten videos along with the workshops. They were meant to explain that day’s topic with as much creativity as possible.

More important than anything, we met really awesome people. In our facility, at the same time, there was another project held by the same organizers, so we had even more people to meet and even better time to spend. Every day we had energizers in the morning, just dancing in the afternoon and cultural night in the evening. In that way, each country had its own day. Besides us, there was an Italian, Spanish, Bulgarian, Romanian, French and Greek team, altogether over 50 people. Our facilitators were young and rather for fun, but always ready to repeat, help or give advice. All in all, it was very lively and interesting all the time.

Besides workshops, we had some field work as well. The first afternoon was reserved for sightseeing Xativa. It is a nice little town with a very relaxed atmosphere. They like to sleep in, and they have a siesta, so it actually looks very chill. Besides the urban part of the town, there is an old castle on the hill. One morning we decided to hike there, and it was a great experience, both for the company and for the activity and view. A few days later, we went to Valencia and spent the whole day there. Valencia is a place worth visiting. There is interesting architecture on every corner, a bunch of towers and churches, a beautiful museum called Oceanografico, and a metro that takes you wherever you need.
After the Croatian project team went to Barcelona because of a travel plan, 4 of us had two days there and we used them the best we could. On the one hand, we visited many well-known sights like Sagrada Familia, Aquarium, Camp Nou, etc. On the other hand, we have been to the beach and we rented bikes to look around to get a better picture of the city. As the proverb says – everything nice is short-lived. And that is all about our trip – it was a great experience that now looks like a blink of an eye.

This youth exchange was co-funded by the Erasmus+ program, hosted by ASOCIACION TEAMWORKING (Spain) in cooperation with Association Strive! (Croatia).
