Youth Exchange: “Sports Revolution”

PROJECT SUMMARY

In a world so globalised and with a tendency to live on the edge of stress and with limited time each day that passes in our lives, many times it becomes challenging for us to carry out a minimal sports practice that brings us all the undoubted benefits physical, mental and social that any human being needs, as demonstrated. It is also true that the world of the professional or amateur athlete has evolved a lot in recent years, experiencing a technical specialization that has led to a doubling of personal technicalization efforts beyond practising sports in their sports and technical centres, reaching an increase in sporting and technical activity to personal life.

Although it is true that these obvious facts have been fulfilled exponentially during the last 8 years, it has been reaffirmed with the current global health emergency in the form of a pandemic and that has resulted in the days of confinement and cancellations of sporting events due to the coronavirus pandemic are providing a rare closeness to a few professional athletes with citizens, especially younger ones, and creating in them stimuli that go beyond the practice of sports, focusing this attention on future possibilities of new niches for sports market around digital media.

With that goal, the project will involve a total of 32 people from 6 different countries. Throughout the project will develop activities to exchange experiences on the subject, experts talks, visits to related centres, games and group dynamics, which it is intended not only for awareness and the advance of new tactics and strategies but also for the development of information dissemination elements to create a multiplier effect by young people once in their origin places. At the end of the project, we will develop a small documentary, a virtual blog and edit information leaflets with useful information about it. Moreover, the project is carried out with the benefit of all European exchanges: the consequent cultural exchange and different perspectives of youth, through the relationship itself including cultural visits to nearby cities, games and cultural evenings. The language of the project will be English.

WORKING METHODS

Our Youth Exchange will be non-formal learning. It means that learning is based on your experience, your motivation, and your needs. During the exchange, non-formal education methods and methods that assure balance between theory and practice will be used such as presentations, group works, workshops, games, role plays, exercises, etc.

PARTICIPANTS PROFILE

We are looking for 5 participants and 1 team leader who are:

• age 18 – 30,
• Croatian residents,
• able to communicate in English,
• strongly motivated to engage in the project,
• have the interest to learn and are willing to participate actively,
• participants who are active members of sports associations will have an advantage in the selection process.
• The team leader has to be at least 18 years old and there is no upper age limit (that means if you are older than 30 you can apply for the team leader position).

COSTS

This project is financed by Erasmus +, so all costs like travel, accommodation, and food during the exchange duration are covered.

Erasmus + program is covering total costs of accommodation and food (3 meals per day + snacks with a coffee break) during the youth exchange.

There is an annual membership for joining our mobility projects. The price of membership is different for active and passive members, volunteers, or newcomers, so for detailed info click here. Membership has to be covered 3 weeks before the departure date.

TRAVEL

Arrival: Valencia Airport,  13th of August (before 14:00h)
Departure: Valencia Airport,  21st of August (after 15:00h)

Participants are buying tickets with the help of organizers and travel costs are going to be reimbursed after the project. The maximum travel reimbursement budget for a participant from Croatia is 275 EUR.

DO I NEED TO KNOW SOMETHING MORE?

Yes. There is no participation fee. But you are agreeing with the rules and conditions by signing a participation contract and including it in the application. Applications without a signed contract and CV are not going to be accepted. So, better be serious and read all the info about the project one more time including your personal time management.

SELECTED PARTICIPANTS

Selected participants, as well as candidates on the waiting lists, will be informed about the results until the 30th of May. If you are going to be selected, you will need to fill in the application form for the organizers, which is mentioned in the info pack.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO TRAVEL DUE TO COVID-19?

As you already know, measures are changing every day in every country due to epidemic situations. If organizers estimate implementation of the mobility won’t be possible due to the safety of participants, the dates of the exchange will be delayed.

TO GOOD TO BE TRUE?

Even though we are offering participation in this project “for free” it doesn’t mean it is free. As an organization, we are covering project administration costs and our volunteers are working hard, investing their energy, knowledge, and time to make this opportunity possible. Why? Because we are in love with mobility and striving to open even more international opportunities for young people and youth workers in Croatia and wider who invest time in self-development and make positive changes in their environments.
