Sail to entrepreneurial success in Denmark

The project consists of two activities, a Contact Making Event and a Training Course hosted by InterCollege Denmark.

The aim of the project is to strengthen the youth sectors role in supporting young entrepreneurs through a reinforced network of youth organizations and increased capacity of youth workers in nonformal entrepreneurship education.

The aim will be reached through the following objectives:

1. Create a concrete network of youth organizations across Europe for promoting an entrepreneurial spirit amongst youth through utilizing best practices and identifying shared innovative proposals;

2. Utilize newly established partnerships among the partners of the project to enhance local youth’s mobility possibilities, for instance through European Solidarity Corps or Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs;

3. Explore and reinforce the role of non-formal education in the promotion of youth entrepreneurship;

4. Increase youth workers competencies and toolbox for delivering non-formal entrepreneurship education to young people.

These objectives will be reached through the Contact Making Event (CME) and the Training Course (TC).

A1 – Contact Making Event

The Contact Making Event will take place in Slettestrand, Denmark between 27th of October and 4th of November 2019. The contact-making event will bring together 40 managers of youth organizations from Denmark, Slovakia, Latvia, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Austria, Cyprus, Croatia, Turkey, Italy, Romania, United Kingdom, and France.

Participants profile

In order to participate, the candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

o Be at least 22 years old ;

o Be a representative of your organization with a mandate to make decisions on behalf of the organization, such as a manager;

o Have experience in youth work

o Be dedicated to foster youth entrepreneurship through your organization’s activities;

o Have a desire to explore new ideas and proposals for promoting youth entrepreneurship and an entrepreneurial spirit through international projects and cooperation with the other partner organizations;

o Have the ability to communicate fluently in English.

Candidates who do not fulfill the above requirements will not be accepted.

During the contact-making event, among others the participants will gain:

– Deepened understanding of the EU youth Programme and its relevance as a tool for addressing issues related to youth entrepreneurship;

– New perspectives on the relevant fields (entrepreneurship, youth work, non-formal education) through cooperation with the other participants and international networking;

– Skills to create concrete proposals for promoting entrepreneurship among youth through non-formal education within the parameters of the EU youth programs;

– Skills to produce and develop a wide range of tools, methods, and practices that promote entrepreneurship among youth through non-formal education in cooperation with partners from other countries.

Deadline to apply: 4 September 2019

A2 – Training Course

The Training Course will be implemented in Slettestrand, Denmark, between the 24th of November and 3rd of December 2019. The training course will bring together 33 youth workers from Denmark, Slovakia, Latvia, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Austria, Cyprus, Croatia, Turkey, Italy, Romania, United Kingdom, and France.

Participants profile

In order to participate, the candidates must fulfill the following requirements:

o Be at least 22 years old;

o Be an experienced youth worker motivated to use the tools and methods to promote entrepreneurship among young people;

o Have a concrete need to develop competencies in youth work activities – in particular, entrepreneurship education;

o Be committed to multiplying the project results;

o Have the ability to communicate fluently in English;

o Knowledge about non-formal education methods in entrepreneurship will be an advantage.

Candidates who do not fulfill the above requirements will not be accepted.

During the training course, among others the participants will gain:

– Knowledge upon entrepreneurship and aspects to cover when working with aspirational entrepreneurs, including creative thinking, problem-solving, decision making, identification of strengths and weaknesses, idea generation, pitching, etc.;

– New skills to deliver non-formal entrepreneurship education, including new methods and tools on creative thinking, problem-solving, strengths, and weaknesses, etc.;

– Skills to develop new methodologies for delivering youth entrepreneurship education.

COSTS

This project is financed by Erasmus +, so all costs like travelaccommodation, and food during the exchange duration are covered.

The maximum travel budget for the Croatian team is 275 EUR per participant, and it will be reimbursed to participants after the end of all project activities including dissemination.

There is also a reservation fee of 210 kuna (30 EUR) which you need to pay before the project starts for administration costs to Association Strive! if you are going to be selected. You can ask your university, company or NGO you are involved in to help you cover the fee.

You will have the opportunity to earn Youthpass – recognition tool for non-formal & informal learning on youth projects. It’s more than just a certificate. Trust us.
